EUTELSAT IGO welcomes eminent Polish diplomats

EUTELSAT IGO’s Executive Secretary Mr Piotr Dmochowski-Lipski had the honour of receiving a visit from two eminent Polish diplomats associated with the United Nations system. Ambassador Bogusław Winid, Vice-Chairman of the International Civil Service Commission, and Ambassador Mariusz Lewicki, the newly appointed Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Poland to UNESCO.

The International Civil Service Commission is an independent expert body established by the UN General Assembly to regulate the conditions of service for the UN common system staff, while UNESCO is a specialised UN agency aimed at promoting international cooperation in education, arts, sciences and culture.

The Executive Secretary had the opportunity to exchange views with his distinguished guests on topics such as staff employment conditions in intergovernmental organisations, UNESCO’s role in the UN system and current challenges facing the Agency, and EUTELSAT IGO’s involvement in the work of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, a joint initiative by the UNESCO and the ITU.
