The 55th meeting of the EUTELSAT Advisory Committee, comprising the Parties of France, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Romania, Switzerland and Türkiye, met today in Paris. The meeting, chaired by Diána Daczi of Hungary, was also attended by Observer from the United Kingdom, together with the Chair of the Assembly of Parties, Ms Ivana Stanković.
A report on Eutelsat S.A.’s compliance with the Basic Principles was also presented by the Executive Secretary, indicating that taking into account the Group’s financial results and the recent combination of Eutelsat and OneWeb, the Company is in a satisfactory situation vis a vis the Organisation.
The Advisory Committee was also informed of the activities of the EUTELSAT IGO Secretariat since its last meeting regarding EUTELSAT’s participation in the World Radiocommunication Conference in 2023, in the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee of the COPUOS and in various events in relation to its monitoring of the European regulatory environment and latest developments related to the satellite and space telecommunication market.
At the invitation of the Executive Secretary, Mr Jean-Hubert Lenotte, Director of Strategy and Resources at Eutelsat Group, made a presentation on Eutelsat’s highlights since the recent combination between Eutelsat and OneWeb. He also presented the future strategies for the Eutelsat Group as the global satellite leading operator in LEO and GEO and confirmed the Company’s commitment in fulfilling the Basic Principles.
The Advisory Committee expressed its appreciation with the information provided by the Executive Secretary on the ability for the Company to continue to fulfil its obligations to EUTELSAT IGO. The Committee adopted its report and decided to hold its next meeting at the beginning of next year to prepare its report to the Assembly of the Parties.
